Pride Month 2021 has begun, and in the spirit of celebration, I'd like to officially announce a little secret of mine - Kudo-sensei is Venus: Improbable Dream's resident bisexual, and LGBTQ+ representative!
If you're eagle-eyed enough, you might have spotted a hint about Kudo's orientation when you read my Venus: Improbable Dream short stories, which I posted here a few months ago as a bit of extra fun, and to give some new insights into the game's characters. I hope learning this fact about Kudo-sensei deepens your appreciation of his character! As a pansexual myself, I wanted to be sure that the LGBTQ+ community was represented in my game, even if it wasn't by the main characters. The more I wrote Kudo, the more flamboyant he seemed to become, and it only made sense to have him fly the bisexual flag and represent!
You're welcome to invent your own headcannons for how Kudo discovered his sexuality and his experiences - I personally believe that he's dated both men and women, and I doubt he has a preference for one in particular. As someone who's passionate about music and the enjoyable things in life, I don't think it matters to Kudo who you are - if you're a great person, he'll love you regardless!
With that sentiment, I want to wish a very happy Pride Month to everyone, whether you're out and proud, closeted and waiting for the right time, or simply a straight ally supporting your queer friends - lots of love to you all!
