Secret Borealis Projects [Partially] Revealed!

Greetings, gamers!  Borealis here!

You’d be forgiven for thinking that things are very quiet here on the Borealis front, but I can prove you wrong!  For various reasons, I’m unable to fully share the things I’m currently doing because they’re all tied into projects that are in the earlier stages of development, and aren’t ready to be divulged to the public just yet.  However, I’m gonna give you as much info as I possibly can right now, so get excited!  Here’s a little summary:

Project 1 - “Venus: Improbable Dream” Future Content

You’ll be happy to know that this first endeavour will expand the Venus: Improbable Dream universe!  I can’t say too much, but this special project began on May 1st, and for the first time, the game is being handled by more than just myself and the artist and coder who were involved in the original game’s creation - there’s a whole team on board!  I promise to share what I can when I can, but we’re very deep into the process at the moment and things are being kept a secret for now.  We have produced a lovely brand new piece of artwork in a never before seen style, and while I can’t show you yet, I can confirm that it’s pretty damn good!  Let’s just say that the end result of this project might just mean that Haruka and Kakeru’s touching journey will be able to be experienced in more ways than one!

Project 2 - Upcoming Visual Novel Soundtrack

Reddit can be a strange and warped universe, but it can also bring about wonderful connections, which I can already fully attest to, considering I met my amazing coder and artist, Yui and Solaf, via Reddit!  To my joy, I recently met someone else there who was reaching out to try to find musicians to get involved in the visual novel that they’re developing, and while I can’t reveal much about it yet, I was inspired by their story.  The lowdown:  I’ve been commissioned to provide part of the VN’s soundtrack!  I began on May 6th (May seems to be a productive month this year, huh?), and with our current schedule, I estimate that I’ll complete my tracks sometime in August.  Hopefully by that point, the dev will have made enough progress with the process that we’ll be able to share something solid with you all, including snippets of these tracks!  I’ll provide updates as they happen.

Project 3 - Youtube AMV Cover Song

This time, I had Discord communities to thank for this opportunity!  Last month, I posted my cover of a track from a game I love (it’s from “To The Moon”, if you’re wondering!), and a lovely Discord user contacted me to chat about the possibility of me singing for a project he’s working on, which I ended up accepting (also, I just checked our chat log, and this also started on May 6th - what’s with May for me this year?!).  I won’t reveal the song and subject yet, but the finished project is going to be an AMV in tribute to a certain anime, with me providing the vocals on an English translation of its theme!  I did the translation myself too, so it’s as original a version of the song as I could make.  I’ve already completed recording the track, so all that’s left is for the AMV itself to be made.  As soon as it’s ready to share, you know I’ll drop you a link!

And that’s just about all I can tell you for now!  This is all exciting stuff, and I can’t wait to spill more of this delicious tea - as soon as ANYTHING becomes ready to share, I’ll put it out for all to see and hear!  For now, just know that ya girl Borealis is working hard to bring you plenty of varied and enjoyable content, both within the realms of Venus: Improbable Dream and beyond!

Have a great day, now!
